Equity for All

Atmos Indigenous is deeply committed to the equality and equity of First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples, youth, children, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ community members in what is now known as Canada, and globally.

As an Indigenous organization and as Indigenous Peoples, we take our responsibilities for addressing systemic disparities and historical traumas seriously.

We acknowledge and celebrate the differences of First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples, and recognize that there are those among us who have had their ability to identify with their own Peoples, lands and waters stolen from them through the legacy and ongoing practices of colonialism. We choose to embrace the principles and spirit of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in upholding the rights of First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples.

We are committed to advancing policies and practices that prioritize the health and well-being of all community members, and to centering their voices and experiences in decision-making processes.

Collectively, we work towards a future where all individuals can receive the support they need to thrive with dignity and respect.

About Atmos Indigenous

Who Are We?

Atmos Indigenous’ distinct approach is founded it in its core values, intentions and responsibilities.

Values

We will always approach partners and clients with gratitude and humility, and bring our best skills, insights, customary values and teachings, and work forward to support you. We will do so with transparency and clarity in order to honour and uphold the integrity and dignity of our research community and that of our partners and clients. This foundation strengthens our ability to fulfill our intentions in working with you.

Intentions

Through kindness and love, we are committed to building good relationships with our partners and with those with whom they have a responsibility to engage. Building and sustaining good relationships is key to our work. Our intentions are guided by Etuaptmumk*, so that we build and learn from the knowledges of all.

Responsibilities

Our central responsibilities are to conduct our projects with a good mind and work towards a state of harmonious balance in what we do, with and for our partners. In achieving these responsibilities, and in helping our partners achieve theirs, our work together becomes a circle of respect, honesty, and balance.
